Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) has just been honored at the Vietnam Digital Awards (VDA) 2025, once again affirming TPBank's pioneering role in digital transformation of the banking industry.
Few people can imagine that TPBank, which was subject to mandatory restructuring in 2011, could rise to the leading group of banks today. Instead of following the traditional model of branch expansion, TPBank's leadership chose the only path: Developing digital channels. "Difficulty is the mother of invention", as General Director Nguyen Hung once shared, it was this bold choice that opened the door to development.
Today, more than 98% of TPBank's customer transactions take place on digital channels with more than 14 million users, among the banks with the largest customer base in the system. That breakthrough stems from the technology philosophy that TPBank has always adhered to: AI-Top, Data-First, Cloud-Ready.
From digitalization to smart experience
TPBank not only brings banking services to the digital environment, but also continuously adds layers of smart technology to enhance the experience. TPBank application helps customers open accounts in just a few seconds with eKYC, pay by facial recognition, transfer money via voice, or chat like on a messaging application.
The LiveBank 24/7 system has turned the concept of "banking that never sleeps" into reality, when customers can open accounts, issue cards, deposit savings or withdraw money at any time, just with biometrics.
For the corporate sector, TPBank Biz has opened a new way of financial management: Online disbursement in just 5 minutes, integrating the BizConnex ecosystem, and supporting small and medium enterprises to access financial services quickly and transparently.
In the core platform, TPBank focuses strongly on digitalizing operations. Nearly 300 RPA robots, big data analytics technology and artificial intelligence are being deployed to automate processes, optimize costs and improve risk management capabilities. This not only helps the bank to be lean, but also creates a foundation to develop new services at a faster pace.
Accompanying the E-Vietnam aspiration
Along with upgrading the financial experience for customers, TPBank actively contributes to the national digital transformation program. Supporting people to connect their social security accounts with VNeID, implementing many policies to waive online money transfer fees and expanding financial service universalization programs have clearly demonstrated TPBank's commitment to the journey of building a prosperous digital Vietnam.
As General Director Nguyen Hung once emphasized: "The real needs of the people are the key factor determining the success of digital transformation. It is the small daily benefits that will form habits, then spread into big changes".
Since the beginning of the year, TPBank has been continuously honored in important award categories in the field of financial technology. The Bank was awarded by The Asian Banker as “Most Innovative Digital Banking Product in Asia - Pacific” with ChatPay - a chat-like money transfer feature. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) honored TPBank with two major awards “Leading Partner Bank in Vietnam” and “Leading Trade Finance Bank for SMEs”. This is a testament to the technological capacity and international reputation that TPBank has built.
