Competing with 48 countries, Vietnam team has won excellent 3rd place worldwide, a remarkable result after 5 years of participation in this international award, demonstrated a new level of techniques from Vietnamese golfers.

At 18:00 pm, the team members in purple uniform color and Vietnam national flag appeared in the warmly welcome of family, spectators, representatives of the World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) in Vietnam, and leader of TPBank  - the exclusive sponsor of the tournament in Vietnam.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Quynh (Representative of WAGC in Vietnam) shared emotionally: "This is the first time in 5 years, Vietnam team won such high rank, team South Africa won for the last 2 years and this year the US team with pretty high expectations but thanks to the team spirit, strong determination in the last minutes of Vietnam team turned things around and won 3rd place. Team Vietnam was ranked after Malaysia and Singapore. This is an encouraging result of Vietnam compared to the history. "

Especially, in the single league table, Vietnam impressed international golfers with high quality performance. While golfer Nguyen Nhu Nguyen won the champion in Group E of WAGC (Championship Table) with the tremendous performance (– 7) after 3 days, golfer Hoang Hung Son also won 3rd prize of Group E WAGI (guest table) with the score (-2) after 3 days.

Sharing his achievement Golfer Nguyen Nhu Nguyen  (champion of WAGC Group E) said: "This tournament is extremely competitive, before the final day of competition we only stood at 4th place and try our best for national team. Until the moment our name was called, we bursted into tears of happiness. "

Vietnam team Leader, Mr. Hoang Hung Son who won 3rd place in Group E WAGI said: "This year Vietnam team has an advantage over the previous year by having experience at qualifying round organized by TPBank with similar rules compared to the international competition. Our golfers played very confidently and professionally. "

Sharing the competition results in 3 days, Vietnam team chief Hoang Hung Son said: “Ending day 2, Vietnam still ranks bottom 4. On the last day, with tactic "full-scale attack", the team won the 3rd place spectacularly. Regarding single league table, golfer Nguyen Nhu Nguyen had no competitors for the first 2 days, so Group E Champion is a predictable result for him”. According to Mr. Son, the competition this year took place in 6 consecutive days on 3 different courses without support from caddies is a big challenge for all golfers. However, the team members get used to this condition when participating in the tournament held by TPBank in Vietnam, so they found no difficulties with the situation. 

This year is the 5th year that Vietnam attended the WAGC. After two qualifying rounds in Southern, Northern areas, the organizer has selected five best golfers representing Vietnam to attend the final round in Turkey from 29/11 - 04/12/2015. At this tournament, Vietnam Team has made a good impression in the hearts of golfers coming from 49 countries by the professional preparation and performance from all qualified golfers of the team
