TPBank is expected to be included in the list of the world's most valuable banking brands in 2026.
Brand Finance's 2026 Banking 500 report identifies the total global banking brand value at US$1.8 trillion. Notably, Vietnam has 13 banks in the Top 500, demonstrating the increasingly prominent position of the Vietnamese banking system on the world financial map.
The report shows that the global banking industry continues to maintain stable growth, despite fluctuations in the global economy. Asset management is becoming the fastest-growing segment of the industry, with a growth rate of up to 45%, significantly higher than the average growth rate of approximately 10% for the entire banking sector.
Behind this increase in brand value are structural changes reshaping the competitive landscape of the finance and banking sector. The strong development of asset management, the maturation of digital banks (neobanks), and the recovery of the Japanese banking market are creating new growth drivers for the industry.
Furthermore, large-scale Chinese banks continue to maintain their leading positions in global rankings. In 2026, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China continued to hold the position of the world's most valuable banking brand, with an estimated brand value of US$90.9 billion.
In this year's ranking, Vietnam has 13 banks ranked in the Top 500, including: Vietcombank, VietinBank, MB, BIDV, Techcombank, Agribank, VPBank, ACB, HDBank, Sacombank, VIB, TPBank, and SHB.
With this number, Vietnam ranks among the countries with the most banks appearing in the ranking, second only to major markets such as China, the US, and Japan…
Among the Vietnamese banks ranked in 2026, TPBank continues to maintain its presence in the global ranking, placing 459th.
According to Brand Finance, brand valuation helps financial institutions measure brand strength and quantify the financial value of that brand. This is an important basis for banks to build long-term development strategies, enhance competitiveness, and increase enterprise value.
Headquartered in London and operating in more than 25 countries, Brand Finance conducts more than 6,000 brand valuations annually and publishes more than 100 brand ranking reports across various sectors and countries.
This organization also operates the Global Brand Equity Monitor project, surveying over 175,000 participants in 41 countries to assess the brand awareness and perception of more than 6,000 global brands.
The increasing number of Vietnamese banks included in the Banking 500 ranking demonstrates the maturity and elevation of the Vietnamese banking system's brand in the international market. This is also a positive sign reflecting the strong restructuring, digital transformation, and improved governance capabilities currently underway in the Vietnamese banking industry in recent years.
